Puerto Rican architect, urbanist, and educator Andrés Mignucci has been selected as a Rockefeller Foundation Arts and Literary Arts Scholar in Residence at the Bellagio Center in Lake Como, Italy.
Now in its 58th year, the Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Center supports the work of scholars, artists, thought leaders, policymakers, and practitioners who share in the Foundation’s pioneering mission to “promote the well-being of humanity around the world.” The Residency Program provides the opportunity for focused work while inspiring new and expansive thinking from world leaders selected for their compelling individual work and significant accomplishments within their field.
Mignucci’s research project titled “Common Ground: Public Space and the Resilient City” examines the changing role of public space in times of environmental crisis and how the various qualities, design, programming, and performance of public space contribute to the formulation of resilient neighborhoods and cities.
